The Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)
01 October 2020
To mark the International Day of the Girl Child, 2020, UNICEF Maldives in collaboration with the local NGO – Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) have produced a child-friendly version on the The Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
One of the most important steps in eliminating discrimination against women is to ensure that young children are aware of the rights guaranteed to girls by CEDAW, including the rights to education, health, employment, marriage and family life. The booklet ensures that all of these rights, along with the State responsibilities to fulfil these rights, are conveyed in a manner that is easily understood by children.
